Its a joy to see the thai kids of Mae Salak! A 10 day trip is definitely not enough:) HAHA!
Day 1!
Woke up early morning at 5am to prepare to go to airport. Damn freaking early!!! Supposed to wake up earlier..But i ended up waking up late cos' i slept late! Too excited lar..cannot blame me(: Anyways, manage to reach airport on time. Mummy and Bro went to sent me off:) Met my gals there and we were all damn excited!!! Cant stop laughing for nothing...Haha! Then...Off to Thailand! OMGAWD! The plane ride was a killing! Reached Thailand with butt aches!!! Checked in to Mae Kok River Village Resort. Really cool place!! Got bars..which means... ICE CREAMS ICE CREAMS & MORE ICE CREAMS! Yum Yum Yum!!! Got grouped up with Cai Yun and Pei Fen! HAHA!!! We had so much fun together! Laugh and laugh and laugh:D:D At night we played ice breaking games and got to know one another:) Well, thats basically all for the first day:)
Day 2!
We went to Mae Salak School. It was a saturday, so that means no school. But the were still students who went there to play! First, we all assembled at the school field and introduced ourselves to the students there. They were all so cute!Then we played games..Joanna and I became the mother chicken!-_-" Group 3 and 4 went to start on the dormitory first. Went hiking after that... so tiring man!!! had to walk across waters...then my shoe wet... but sent to wash for 60 baht! Now i understood the aim for building the dormitory for the kids..they are all so pitiful..have to walk such long distances everyday. Sobs:( After dinner, had games and got grouped up with amanda and peipei! We had to build this water tank thingy..and our sculpture managed to hold the water!!! Except for Wei Chuan's group..Haha!
Day 3!
Group 1 and 2 started to build the dormitory.Before starting work all of us were forced to drink half a giant bottle of water..made us all so bloated..We leveled the sand and put pebbles on it. So tiring! Got sunburned! HAHA! but not as bad as others luh.Had to wear slippers to work today cos my shoe still under washing. So disgusting cos of all the sand in my slippers.. YUCKS! Then at night we got discussion with our working group on how to teach the students. We were going to teach them some animal. And to act it out!!!
Day 4!
Group 1 and 2 started teaching first. My group taught primary 3 students. Was kinda hard at first cos there was difficulty communicating. But after a while was okay luh. Managed to make them understand with the help of Pear! After lunch,off to the dormitory site! We formed a human chain to put in the cement. " Thanks You" De Ming for dirty-ing my shoe! 60 BAHTS GONE! Alamak!
Day 5!
Didnt had to go school today. So free! We went to the Golden triangle!!! Next off to the tea plantation. Great view!! And took loads of pictures there! Then went to the opium musiem. Halfway thru stephanie and sherllie drag me and amanda to this glass floor thingy... So damn scary! The manequin looked at us man! Then cos Amanda scream then make me scream!!!Haha! Then off for dinner then SHOPPING! Bought some friendship bands and a handphone pouch. Cos mummy has been nagging at me to buy in case i drop my phone:)
Day 6!
A normal day. Set out for school and built the dormitory and teaching. Blah blah blah...At night we all practiced singing our song for the farwell ceremony at Mae Salak! We sang "Kiss Goodbye" and the chorus in Thai! LOL! Was chosen to sing on the stage! So pai seh can.
Day 7!
Last day at Mae Salak! Played with the kids and Lak, my cute cute buddy!!! Managed to do some building of the dormitory but did not finish:( Hopefully there are some other kind hearted schools to come and help finish building the dormitory for the kids there. They are so pitiful..everyday have to walk long distances.. Then time to say goodbye! So many kids cried..i didnt cry at first. But Lak cried and hugged me which made me cried. Really miss all of them!
Day 8!
Went to Thaton School to teach english.Firstly, we danced the friendship dance. Not bad actually! Next we played some games. Then started on the teaching! Very boring.Trust me. I dont think the students even understood what we taught them. But nevermind! Anyways, met a few students and made friends with them!At night had to do some obstacle course. I didn;t want to do it.. but so many ppl forced me to:( Not bad luh. Quite fun actually! But i fell into the water while walking the log! Damn it! I didnt finish the obstacle course cos' i didnt dare to do it! Haha:D
Day 9!
Last day in Thailand! Time really flies. Anyways, checked out of the resort and off to the hotel.Damn it! A 3 star hotel. So disappointing.. The bed so hard! Feels like as though we were sleeping on stones.. Then went to Zaneta's room which was next to mine!! Watched Step Up 2! Feels like as though there was a party. There the quite a couple of us: Zaneta, Kang Jing, Farah, Me, Amanda, Stephanie, Sherllie, Cai Yun, Pei Fen, Jerome, Wenn Young and Clarence. There were some others but they went off halfway thru the movie. Made so much noise lar! Then after movie we went to a temple. We prayed and wandered around ourselves. Amanda, Ernest, Kelvin, Pei En and me went into a hall or something got prayed and the monk sprinkled holy water on us! HAHA! Wet wet wet!!! It was so tiring and cold when climbing up the temple okay...After the visit we went off for dinner. Quite fun actually:) The was this cultural show and amanda and I scared the hell out of ourselves cos of a stupid goat( it was fake, but it looked scary.) Yeah. Then went off halfway as it was eating away our shopping time! Left only one and a half hours to shop! Not enough eh! But still managed to shop abit! Bought many many shirts! And seriously at a cheap price! Bargain lor! So aunty right?! At night wanted to stay up whole night to play but ended up sleeping..So embarrasing can?! People still walked into my room when i was asleep...
Day 10!
Woke up at 4.45 am! Yes! 4.45 am!!! So darn freaking early. We were rushing to change but managed to reach downstairs for breakfast. Next, headed off to airport! My eyes could hardly open...only slept for 2 hours eh! The plane ride was so bumpy! Want to sleep also cannot. We reached Bangkok Airport and had to stay in there for 3 hours. But played PSP and walked around. Managed to kill the time lar:) Back to Singapore! Really miss Thailand alot!! Hopefully can go back there again:) 10 days seriously not enough!!!
